[He does take his sweet time with it, mostly just focused on relaxing and enjoying having his hair pet and how everything feels very good and very alive and very warm right now? It's nice with the window open and it's all ... springtime in here.

But after a second of actually trying to think, his expression starts to get a little distant - sitting up slightly to pull at the piercing in his lip.]

[He blinks at the name like-- It doesn't make sense for a moment. Who? But it seems to shake off after a second. Pinching the bridge of his nose.]

[He does relax again at that, putting his head back down, just watching Caleb's face for a bit.]

I ... we had a discussion, about who wanted to even go back. If we had any choice about it. More than a few did, but-- [He really wanted it to be himself. Selfish.]

[He's trying to not ask that as a pointed question, just an observation.]

I suppose it's safer there. [Hmm. He's quiet for a moment.] We. . . it always had to be you. I'm not sure anyone else would have even tried to bid. We were just. . . you know, it's Beauregard and I, not the best people in the world to be alone together and angry and moping? It wasn't so good until the auction was announced, and it felt like we could just make that happen and that could be good enough for a while.

Ah - we couldn't even bid ourselves, really. We had Kon and Ichiro bidding for us, and I was a real asshole about it. Scolding Kon for using his vouchers on healing people on Thursday, things like that. [He huffs a laugh, slightly self-deprecating.] They didn't win, though. And I was furious, and Beauregard was furious, until it turned out Yamato and Taichi had outbid them but were also bidding for us.

But. . . I really don't think there was anyone else trying for it. If someone else had come back Monday she and I would have been such assholes about it, not worth it, really.

[He just shakes his head at the question. There were a few who didn't want to face the crowd. He can't really blame them for that. But he's quiet through the next part, just curling in a bit closer at that, under his chin. Kissing him gently on the neck after he finishes.

He's quiet still for a few moments more, but ... as ugly and messy as a lot of that is, it's also very endearing to him. That they'd care this much. He knew they did, obviously. They'd done a lot for him already.]
