[He's worried now. Just waiting for it to pass with a frown.]

[He blinks at the name like-- It doesn't make sense for a moment. Who? But it seems to shake off after a second. Pinching the bridge of his nose.]

I, um. Can't think of anything.

[Petting his hair again, a kiss to the base of his horn.]

I think the point here was to have you with us, not to grill you. That was the other prize.

Yeah.

[He does relax again at that, putting his head back down, just watching Caleb's face for a bit.]

I ... we had a discussion, about who wanted to even go back. If we had any choice about it. More than a few did, but-- [He really wanted it to be himself. Selfish.]

Some didn't want to come back here?

[He's trying to not ask that as a pointed question, just an observation.]

I suppose it's safer there. [Hmm. He's quiet for a moment.] We. . . it always had to be you. I'm not sure anyone else would have even tried to bid. We were just. . . you know, it's Beauregard and I, not the best people in the world to be alone together and angry and moping? It wasn't so good until the auction was announced, and it felt like we could just make that happen and that could be good enough for a while.

Ah - we couldn't even bid ourselves, really. We had Kon and Ichiro bidding for us, and I was a real asshole about it. Scolding Kon for using his vouchers on healing people on Thursday, things like that. [He huffs a laugh, slightly self-deprecating.] They didn't win, though. And I was furious, and Beauregard was furious, until it turned out Yamato and Taichi had outbid them but were also bidding for us.

But. . . I really don't think there was anyone else trying for it. If someone else had come back Monday she and I would have been such assholes about it, not worth it, really.

[He just shakes his head at the question. There were a few who didn't want to face the crowd. He can't really blame them for that. But he's quiet through the next part, just curling in a bit closer at that, under his chin. Kissing him gently on the neck after he finishes.

He's quiet still for a few moments more, but ... as ugly and messy as a lot of that is, it's also very endearing to him. That they'd care this much. He knew they did, obviously. They'd done a lot for him already.]

. . . Have to stop making you chase after me so much. Not a good look for me.

There is playing hard to get, and then there's this.

[But gently, concerned about how he seems a little morose. That's not so like Mollymauk.]

[That is obscenely romantic and Molly actually goes a weird shade of magenta at it. Isn't the affection curse not until tomorrow? But I imagine at this point maybe SOMEONE starts banging at the door and threatening to blast it down?]

[Welp, he is immediately scrambling out of bed and starting to pull on his clothes he ain't getting caught like this.]

[Scrambling to find his own pants? Just in case. Whispering as quietly as he can--]

She's not going to actually blast the door!

[Sloppily buttoning up his shirt, staring at Molly while he listens to the yelling.]

[A very loud pound from the door? Molly looks over nervously.]

[He puts on his coat and scarf, turns into a bird and flies out the window. Bye.]
