[silas is hanging around the terrace, though he is apparently uninterested in the new luxurious melon shaped HOT TUB, instead jotting something in a notebook as he hums to himself on occasion.

i'm sorry i hope no one expects a pc starter that involves silas taking the initiative to talk]

[ that feels INSANE who would not want to be in this sick hottub. in fact molly is probably coming out here to do exactly that, even if there are a bunch of glowing letters on his chest. don't worry about it. ]

[GLANCES AT THE GLOWING LETTERS ON HIS CHEST BECAUSE THAT'S KIND OF HARD TO MISS.]

[ hi. he's sitting on one of the hospital beds, mostly healed over superficially and wearing a lil bandage eyepatch.

doing something stupid like trying to sew up a large cut on his chest by himself. why. ]

Incident No. 761: the case that has haunted many of you for years, unofficially resolved with the ruling that your father was the culprit. When this trial began, perhaps none of you imagined that this case in present day would be intrinsically connected to that day from years ago. In the end, though, if there's anything like fate in the world, this is what it would look like—the fact that you are all here today.

During the previous recess, you asked the defence one question: What do you see, standing in the courtroom? She didn't understand what you meant, and you could not reveal your true question: What does justice mean to you? All you could say in response to her confusion was to think it over.

(Does every crime need to be punished? Your answer—not just as a lawyer, when you never wanted to be one, but as a person—is no. Sometimes, the case is tragic enough, and the outcome of a sentence is too cruel.)

And now, you can see her deliberating over her decision, when asked to present evidence for Detective Sandford's motive. The moment of truth, a sinking feeling your stomach; she makes her move, and ties Detective Sandford both to this case and to Incident No. 761. Finally, you speak up.]
