[ she grimaces a bit, pulling herself back upright. to sit in the snow. it's fine. ]

I'm alright. [ she sighs. ] I'm thinking I should get used to that, this week...

I appreciate that. Truly.

[ she does weigh the option for a moment, genuinely considering it. it can be nice to not talk about things, but then... she shakes her head. she's never liked keeping this secret. it's just been what's safest. ]

There's no point hiding it here. Not if this is going to keep happening. And - not when everyone else is from other worlds. When half of you are mages, yourselves...

That's what I had heard from Caleb, but I can't even imagine it. Even the places where magic isn't an "affliction" don't put it on a pedestal of authority.

[ ... huh... ]

... You can have spells and not be a mage?

[ once again: ... huh... ]

Tieflings are inherently magical? I... I think our magic must work in very different ways. How can you not know where your "tricks" come from?

Your blood? Like a... Hemomancer? I've heard of them.

[ don't like that, don't like that, don't like that.

and she hasn't asked caleb about what's up with the three of them, but just observing them in public, she's definitely caught... something. something is strange about the way the other two are around mollymauk. or at least, it was when they first arrived. she's willing to guess that this is relevant.

but what do you even say?

she's watched people die before, but never from their own perspective. but was it - did he think he was dying? did he actually die? she can't rule out either, with this place. ]

Ah... The same offer applies. If you would... Rather not discuss that.
