He ... doesn't really know who this person is with Caleb's face all that much. He keeps making the joke that he's exactly the same but bathed, but that's obviously not true. He's weird and funny and shifty as hell which are all things Caleb always was, but ... more. It's the same with Beauregard. Like he'd seen these people through a foggy lens.
The thing about it is, he likes them a lot. It makes the story where they had this falling out, a separation, all that little bit more sad.]
