[Looking a bit apologetic when she seems to startle at the question.]
Ah, yeah. I know their bodies are there for tomorrow. But after that-- Just ... I don't know. Isn't as if the gods seem to have reach here. At least not that I can tell, though I can't say I'm much of a cleric type. Still, makes you wonder what happens. If you can go anywhere.
That's why you'd have to be a complete idiot to throw your life away. That moron kept getting into one mess after another... Did he still think he couldn't die!? ... Idiot.
[Cool! Not a good explanation. He holds his hands up, waving them around a little.]
Erm. Not here. I suppose. Just the last thing I remember ... Well. According to my friends, who have a fairly good grasp on the situation, I suppose, I've been dead and in the ground for a while. I don't really know how it works, so I wouldn't ask, though I do know I'm not a ghost stuck in a physical body according to Manwol, which I didn't think I was, though it's nice to have confirmation--
Anyway.
My point is. I think you're wrong about the whole you're dead and that's lights out. Curtains closed. Thing.
How does that work? [he literally just said he doesn't know, but] Dead and in the ground, I mean, even if you could restart the nervous system, it'd still be...
Wouldn't say resurrection magic is unheard of. You hear stories, sometimes. Stranger things have happened.
[He makes a face, like he's trying to decide whether or not to continue.]
Not this body's first time either. [He crosses his arms here, reluctant, though he's making himself sound casual about it.] I crawled out of a grave a few years back.
[yeah rita is sure going through a lot trying to process this, though she's genuinely trying to understand, and that last bit makes something else click.]
[He sniffs, reaching up to scratch at his face - clearly this conversation makes him on edge a bit, but, you know. Who enjoys talking about their own death.]
I ... wouldn't really know. The first time, it wasn't me that died. I just woke up. So I suppose something like anyone else being born. Didn't have any memories. Learned to talk. Learned a lot of other things - I pick stuff up quickly. So mostly just skipped, I don't know, couple of decades, maybe. The unimportant stuff.
This time, I don't really-- ... Weirdest thing is the looks they give me. Caleb and Beauregard. Apart from that, I don't think I'd have known any different.
You can ask Beau and Caleb if you like, or not. I won't claim I don't lie for the hell of it sometimes. But I don't think ... any of that really matters, to be honest. Just a thing that happened to me, once.
And I haven't really told anyone, because of that. I only tell you because I thought it might be of some comfort in a way. Those things like death and such are fucking strange sometimes. The lines get blurry. I don't know what it means here, exactly, if there's even anything to be done about it. Just that some people are hard to keep down, and Sieghart seems like one of them, if you're asking me.

I'm fine! Just...
...can't believe that idiot's actually gone.
no subject
Bit of an asshole move on his part, after you warned him and everything.
[He'll ruffle her hair and then pull his hand away, shoving them in his pockets instead.]
Where do you think they go?
no subject
Wh, what... the dead?

They don't go anywhere. They're just dead.
no subject
You think?

[He knits his brow, thinking.]
I, um. You know that I'm dead?
no subject
You what?

Scientifically, that doesn't make any sense!

The age on your profile...!?

... What's that like? Being dead, and then not?

This time, I don't really-- ... Weirdest thing is the looks they give me. Caleb and Beauregard. Apart from that, I don't think I'd have known any different.

Damn it. I don't have any reason to believe you, but... I don't think you're lying, so...

Ugh. I must look pretty pathetic, if you think you have to cheer me up like that.
But... thanks, I suppose. For telling me. I don't know if this means anything for Sieghart. But I guess I understand you a little better now.
