[He puts the plate aside after a minute, thinking it over - and then he leans forward, elbows on his knees, hands clasped together.]
I'll tell you what you want. So you can compare the notes. And you don't have to tell me anything of yours in exchange, I-- [he'd respected that? not wanted to share that.] I don't want that. But I want something else. Something in exchange that you can offer me.
It's a principles thing. Mother always said to never give a story away for free.
Myself, Beauregard, Tamaki, Luca, Gideon Nav. It's-- I have to know things to fucking pull this off. Can't just drift through here letting things happen to me.
An exchange of information. I'll tell you this, I'll tell you if I hear anything good, and I get something you learn in the future. I think that seems fair.
[...]
I woke up, by myself, in an inn. A small room, like the ones we have here, but just the bed. It gave me little ... visions. A version of myself in the mirror, a bleeding book, your typical spooky bullshit to unsettle the mind. As I left the room, there were more doors to open. The first one showed me a dear friend, her face. Well. She looked as if she were being controlled. Something in her face. She was attacking Beauregard, and the illusion left me with an image of her body, in the end. She-- It was an illusion, but one that was obviously attempting to dig at me.
The second was my own grave. Fucking Shady Creek Run. What's funny is-- that's near where I crawled out of that first hole in the ground. Shitty place. I won't go back to it, that's for sure.
At that point, I heard Grace shouting and I was able to meet up with her, and we entered the last room on my floor together. Outside the door, we heard familiar voices. Yuel, and Gu Yun. Their voices-- sounded real. They answered true. And fucking stupidly I opened the door for them. I mean, Grace had appeared? Why not them?
Obviously instead they immediately set about attacking us. Gojou heard the commotion and joined us, as well as Douman, with Omi in tow.
[ he listens to it. he's already frowning, at how personalized this is. and admittedly, he can't really say he blames molly for falling for the trick-- even if you know something's an illusion, emotions are pretty powerful things.
he doesn't really comment on any of the personal stuff, since he... does not think it's his place to ask about it. ]
And that explains why Gojou was trying to strangle Omi after you all came back.
[anyway it was probably why gojou was trying to strangle omi, molly is just kinkshaming.]
Mm, so we were attempting to subdue Gu Yun and Yuel when Gojou walked in and assisted us. There was a panicked crossbow situation, Omi suggested that we were attempting to turn on them and Douman returned fire. With a gun? Someone gave them a gun. [why] We thought we had everyone down when Yuel managed to grab that club and.
Well, you saw the result of that.
At that point I didn't have too much to add to the conversation, or I couldn't do too much without erupting blood. Omi was subdued as well. But the door had disappeared. As doors do. The place started to demand a response - I can't speak for the others here, but I felt ... it asked us to think about how much we really wanted we came for. How everyone else is simply in the way. There is no one to trust but yourself, and the solution, of course, is to turn on each other. You are the only person you can trust, and the others are simply waiting to pick you off.
Douman suggested it as easily as breathing to kill them. But how do you know who was real? I'd just-- I'd just seen Yasha. Her face like that. Crying. And Yuel was crying too.
Grace, I believe, acted first. I won't blame her. It was a decision. They were, after all, fakes in the end. I decided against it, I spit in Douman's face and sat there waiting, I suppose, for something else to happen. [To die, maybe. Do you not like it, Mollymauk? Will you bleed to death in this cold room? ] Then Gojou and Douman - and I was in and out at this point - argued over who would be the one to do the deed to Omi. Seemed a heavy disagreement.
I had made my decision, so I suppose they made theirs. Then as Omi died, they too left. And then it was only me. Stupid, I think. My actions. Did I just refuse to look at the difficult decision again rather than face something important?
[ he just. twitches at the douman with a glock thing, but he'll listen to the rest of the story quiet.
after a moment, ]
... we had a decision to make in the end as well. It wasn't as blatant as yours was, since it didn't tell us what we had to do. We just knew. [ ... ] None of us chose to do it. So, you're not the only one who made a possibly stupid decision.
... I'll just say that ours was a step further than just killing.
[ but it's a fairly uncomfortable subject to touch on, so he'll move on. ]
But this place does seem to be testing our resolve. I guess we'll have to see if the others will get anything from actually doing it. [ ... ] But the four of us all forgot something afterwards. We assumed it was a punishment for not going along with it.
[ well. he assumes it was all four of them. harrow's memory is already bad. ]
It was just weird, since the thing I forgot was related to the reason I'm even here.
[ just uno week of "why the fuck did i agree to this again" ]
But... just try to pay attention if anything seems off. The only reason I was even able to notice was because it had to do with my wish. I'm not sure if I would have otherwise.
... I assume so. I didn't notice immediately though, since I was distracted by everything else. Maybe the people you hang out with a lot might notice something you don't.

[he has. Fucking Thoughts. on the omi thing.]

Vira had mentioned a test of some sort. I didn't ask, but. I'd say it seems there are no good answers to be had.
