anyway he is most certainly not expecting the sharp edge of a nail that bites more like a claw - because its probably a claw! holy shit! - and there's a brief moment before that very silly and dramatic eyelash batting swaps into an iota of completely caught off guard. etc.

it's gone in a second, though, and when his cheeks get patted, gu yun shuts his eyes together tight and and wrinkles his nose, a playful, childish face for the childish gesture, before he takes a step back and grins. ]

Am I driving you to drinking already, or is it for the joy of my company? [ but, he waves a hand forward in a gesture of onwards! he's coming. ] Let's.

[He'll just say that? It's fine. Honestly he feels a bit silly for backing off now. This place is supposed to be about not limiting yourself, right? Oh, but the endless horror of Being Known. It's easier when you don't particularly want to be friends with someone to immediately put the moves on them. ]

That sounds about right. [ anyway, he seems to like that answer, grinning as he tucks his hands into his robe sleeves, pleased with himself. off to the bar. ] Did our marvelous little actor attempt to fool anyone else besides me, that you know of?

[It's fine you're just a monsterfucker, gu yun. Happens to the best of us. Molly just shakes his head and gives a half-shrug.]

I'm not particularly good at the thing. I think there's other messages. Suppose I'll find out if someone else comes to me and tells me I'm royalty.

Well? Are you? [ he gives molly a nudge with his shoulder, playful. ]

If I've been speaking to royalty this whole time, then I've been so terribly rude.

[He does have two of the tiny crowns - one on each horn - now. He keeps obtaining these. They're fun and he likes them.]

I was hoping to keep it under wraps, you know! Once people find out, they get so strange about it. You become a high-value target. Really, do just treat me as one of the common folk, I've yet to experience life like that.

anyway, whatever other clever response he has to say is stopped also by the cheese whiz. gu yun immediately wrinkles his nose - the smell is way too strong for him - and takes a step back. ] Is that really cheese?

[It’s hard to tell. Anyway, in a moment of panic, he turns towards his best friend in the entire game: the hot tub.]

[ bro you are so brave. gu yun just kinda lets him do it because of course he does, and waits for the verdict... since he doesn't keel over it's probably fine.

he's absolutely not going to taste it, so, eventually, plugging his nose, gu yun follows molly over to the hot tub, peering curiously around him. what the fuck happened here. ]

Is this someone's form of an indulgence or a crime scene? [ who would do this ]

[Just sitting by the hot tub, looking sad. Tail thumping on the ground like a very, very pissed off cat and muttering to himself.]

My indulgence is going to be beating the shit out of them.

[ THIS IS SO SAD. Now where will beautiful women come and immediately start flirting with him.]

I wonder if cajoling whichever machine junkie in this place into fixing it for us would count.

[Okay, he seems over being upset. Or was play acting being that upset in the first place. Could be either. Getting up and hopping over the bar (he does this every time. It’s showing off.) and grabbing two bottles.]

Alright, lets just escape. Go somewhere . . . else? That’s the thing about this place, you do start to realize it isn’t that large.

[ molly is such a fun person to be around, genuinely. gu yun sits on the rim of the hot tub while he's picking out drinks, making a thoughtful noise as he considers the proposal. ]

Not so large, and with no seeming way out, either. I suppose that's the point of all these toys to play with - to keep us entertained.

[ hmmmmmmmmmm. ] The rec room? The bedroom? I suppose there's the place with the instruments, if you like a little atmosphere with your drinks.

[He does try! He tries very hard, actually.]

Hope this isn’t a particularly long experience. Don’t really like to stay one place more than a week or so. And certainly not inside the whole time.

[Going a little stir crazy already. That’s probably fine.]

Oh! [ gu yun's face lights up. ] I dabble a little. I certainly wouldn't call myself an expert.

[Since Gu Yun was so polite as to offer his arm last time, Molly offers his this time.]

Oh, how kind of you. [ with an air of that same drama, he touches his hand to his heart again, playfully, and then takes molly's arm. time to cavort off to the music room, drinks in hand. ]

You mentioned the circus, before. Is that part of why you like to move from place to place? I'm curious.

It was called the Traveling Carnival for a reason. But yes, we didn’t tend to stick around too long. Crowds obviously have to change to bring in new coin, and, well, looking like I do, certain towns can become . . . disrespectful.

[Sighing, looking a little nostalgic.]

It was wonderful! Until it went sideways. But these things always tend to do that. It was never going to last forever.

I understand. [ the western circus that came through had been... well... that had been kind of a mess to say the least. gu yun ended up not really paying attention to much of the performance, by the end, and that was his only real experience with one.

but, people getting nasty makes sense, and with what molly mentioned about his tiefling nature... ] I'm sorry to hear that - suppose at least you have the memories. What sort of act did you put on, then? If you're ever feeling nostalgic, I'm sure you'd have a captive audience.

I do, indeed, have the memories.

[Honestly it isn’t as if the Fletching and Moondrop hadn’t be a mess. The way it had ended certainly was a Scene.]

As for the act— I wasn’t really a performer. I read fortunes for coin, roused the crowd, trawled the local taverns and markets for patrons, that sort of thing. I was working on a little something or two, just for fun, really. You get me two swords and a flower, and I can put on a act for you.

Seeing as how even knives seem to be in short supply around here, that may be quite difficult. Unless whoever's taken our things will be so kind as to return them - if I manage to get my Wind Slasher back, you'll be the first to know.

Hah. I wish I was the one who came up with it - simply the title of the weapon itself. It's a bit more complex than a sword. [ sometimes your weapons are steampunk and sometimes you also have a sword. ] But I rather like your creativity.
