considering his mental functions are. somewhere! at the moment, he ends up blinking sort of slowly as it all hits at once, and there's a belated second where he has like no emotional reaction at all because his system is still processing.
...however, what blooms out in return is a matching amount of affection and warmth, something more utterly genuine than gu yun ever puts a face on for. there's concern for all of that grief and sorrow, too, and a thick, anxious chord that lies just underneath, obviously so, but it dwarfs in comparison. in a normal situation, he'd likely be running a hundred li an hour to avoid it, or cracking jokes over it, but right now, none of that seems to matter because he's high as a kite from being a good boy and investigating.
