Eh, those were real. I'm pretty sure of it. We had other people get their boots stolen, and so if another person had their shoes stolen why would they just ... not say anything?
If the pattern is three every time, there might not have been another. [ that he's agreeing on, assuming the pattern is actually consistent. ] But if it was just the shoes themselves, it could have been more than just that. Maybe we needed a closer look at feet.
