She wasn't saying she'd never want to hurt anyone. She was saying that on Friday, when she had the burn, she couldn't ask for help because at the time she didn't want to hurt anyone.
[Sorry, bud, she's just in a mood. She doesn't laugh.]
Not that kind. It's clear that our efforts are so trivial. What they really want us to do is kill each other. Is murder really an "indulgence"? Or does this battery they talk of charging run on things other than indulgences?
[. . .]
A core principle of necromancy is that the most thanergy is released at the moment of death - if the death is sudden and violent, it generates more. Orchestrating multiple deaths is even more effective, though generally for the best results you have to ensure that the deaths occur simultaneously. If you have a supply of bodies and a means to generate enough death from them, you can do just about anything with it.
Ah. You mean somehow being any part responsible for their deaths should count for our tally on the chart. By that logic, wouldn't anyone voting at all hold some measure of blood?
[He gets the idea about thanergy pretty quickly, that's not an entirely novel magic concept. it also seems to track very much with ... whatever is happening here.]

Hullo, Frumpkin. Miss me?

He was well behaved.

[Just going back to whatever he was doing before. Sitting at the table twiddling with his phone, working on his cards or something probably.]
Feeling better now?

Stupid girl. I was trying to save her ass. An hour to go - I probably couldn't have done it. But I was trying.
What a fool she made of me.

[How's that for kind.]
You weren't a fool. Or if you were, then it's the same as the rest of us.

[Rude!!]
I'm not sure she was.

[Rude!]
No? Had quite a few people done in with the I'd never want to hurt anyone act.

Because she was still cursed on Friday.

Still, a fairly good strategy to come into trial and not try and hide the ink on your hands.
... Speaking of, we should do something different next week, I suppose.

[She flops back, on her back, looking up at the ceiling.]
I suppose so. We can help another desperate and delusional killer into the grave. I wonder if we ought to get indulgences for this? Don't you think?
